Leadership
Owner & Founder
RDK was built — and is still run — by someone who's spent his career in this industry and knows what it takes to keep a fleet on the road.
Owner & Founder
Richard Kemner
Founder · RDK Truck Sales
Richard founded RDK Truck Sales in 1997 with a simple idea: sell good trucks to good people, and stand behind every one. Nearly three decades later, that approach still runs the business — every truck that leaves the lot, every part across the counter, and every job in the bay carries that same standard.
Richard has spent his career in the refuse and municipal truck industry, building relationships with manufacturers, fleet operators, and municipalities across Florida. He's known for being involved in the day-to-day, available to customers, and committed to building a team that customers come back to year after year.
Outside of RDK, Richard is active in the Tampa community — supporting local charities, school athletics, and youth programs that have made Hillsborough County home for generations.
Our Departments
Built To Support Your Fleet
Every department at RDK exists to keep your fleet rolling. From the sales floor through the service bay, our team is built around professional, customer-first support — the kind that earns repeat business and long-term partnerships.
-
Sales
Spec'ing the right truck for the right route is the difference between a fleet that runs and one that limps. Our sales team listens first — then puts together the chassis, body, and configuration that fits how you actually work, not just what's on the lot.
-
Parts
A truck on a lift waiting for parts isn't doing anyone any good. Our parts counter keeps a deep refuse-truck inventory in stock, with direct lines to the manufacturers we represent — so when you call, we can usually get you what you need the same day.
-
Service
Our service team is your point of contact from the moment a truck comes in to the moment it goes back out. Clear communication, honest timelines, and proper warranty handling — no surprises, no runaround, no jobs left half-finished.
-
Technicians
Refuse trucks are punishing equipment. Our technicians are trained to keep them running — and they back it up with the certifications to prove it. Every job, big or small, gets the same level of care and the same standard of work.
- ASE Certified Master Mechanics
- CNG Specialists On Staff
- Manufacturer-Trained On Major Brands
-
Fabrication
When a truck needs more than what's in the catalog, that's where our fab shop comes in. Custom mounts, repair work, structural fixes, and specialty modifications — built to spec, built to last, and built the way you'd build it yourself if you had the bay and the steel.
Certifications
The Credentials Behind The Bay
Anyone can claim experience. We back ours up with the certifications that matter most for keeping refuse and alternative-fuel trucks safe, compliant, and on the road.
-
ASE Certified Master Mechanics
Our shop carries National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence certifications — the industry standard for medium and heavy-duty truck repair, requiring proven experience and ongoing recertification.
-
CNG-Certified Technicians
Compressed natural gas systems require specialized training, proper handling, and certified inspection protocols. Our team is qualified to maintain, diagnose, and repair CNG-fueled refuse trucks safely and to spec.
